My Stage Show in Cairo Egypt
This post is long overdue and it’s going to be short …. because I’m feeling lazy today ! =)
I recently directed a stage magic show in Cairo , the largest Egypt has ever seen . It was a fantastic event and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to mix around and rub shoulders with some of magic living legends . I also made a tantamount of new friends whom are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met . People in Egypt are really nice , this is my 2nd trip there the 1st being the launch for the Nokia Express Music phone in Cairo in December . I met many familiar faces in the crowd and they kept on asking me to bend a coin for them . =)
My last trip to Cairo , Egypt . I had a great team !
The team consisted of Grand Illusionist , The Pendragons , who are living legends in Magic . They’re in the Guinness World Book of records as the fastest illusionist in the world . Charlotte Pendragon is one of the humblest magical practitioners I know . She helped me so much during the duration of the show .

We had an aerialist , Kristi Toguchi who is attached with Circus De Soil , not forgetting her homourous assistant , Eric ! We also had comedy magician Jay Mattioli and a duo Quick Change Artist who are also the British Grand Prix Magic Champion , Keelan and Charlotte . I also brought my friend Kenneth over to help me out with the whole show preperation .
The show was a huge sucess and hopefully with planning were bringing it over to other parts of the middle east . Most importantly , I made so many new friends and have learned so much from my experience there . The contacts I made , and the knowledge I’ve gotten could have never been substituted by anything else . The main organizers who were good friends made my job so much easier too . Garo and Moussa from Events Plus were a joy to wkr with .

People always ask me why do I enjoy doing magic so much .
Honestly , it’s the people I meet from the shows that I do . Every show is a different experience . Where else do you get a job like mine ? =)
With the main person that brought me to Egypt , Garo Varjabedian ( whose with his son ) . Many more projects to come ! =)

SO MUCH WORK ! BUT I’M LOVING IT !
2009 has started off with a full blast for me .
To be honest , in the beginning , I never knew I could take what I’m doing this far . I always thought that `MAGIC’ was simply a hobby . Something I’d do part time . When I finally realized it’s potential …. My goodness ….
Today itself , I got almost 10 calls inquiring for performance quotes and descriptions . 2 confirmed on the dot . Thats fantastic .
My new year resolution based on work ethics alone :
1) To reply every e-mail & sms I get from my clients in 24 hours max .
2) To make sure I OVER-DELIVER on every show .
3) To find every way possible to be a better performer !
I started this year with a huge leap ! Lets hope the adrenalin keeps on pumping ! It’s going to be a fantastic 2009 !

Virgin Trip to Cairo
I’m back from Nokia’s Music Festival in Cairo ! It was a fantastic show to say the least !
Not mentioning that it was freaking cold as well ! I only brought only ` Malaysian ‘ ( Well, thats what I call long sleeves and a pair of jeans ) attire , besides my suite to Egypt . Blardee hell , when I stepped out of the plane , even my shoes were loose because my feet shrunk !
Altogether , it was a GREAT show with fantastic a fantastic audience base .I made new friends , went inside a Pharaoh’s Tomb , ate authentic Egyptian food and most of all I got to make great friends along the way ! I’ll definitely be back soon to the middle east .=)
LIVING YOUR DREAMS
From a small little hobby , to a life changing decision . I’m somewhat living my dreams . Still quite far from reaching my goals , but I have a good feeling that I’m on the correct path . Slowly speeding up the pace . =)

Hie GUYS ! I’m Back !
Hie guys , a lot of people have been asking me on what happened to this blog of mine ? Why NO UPDATES ?
I am so sorry . Many reasons contribute to the abandonment of davidlai.tv for a long period of time . Website problems , personal problems and I got too caught up with work . I whole heartedly apologize to those who frequent here . I promise that they’ll be frequentupdates from now on . At least twice a week ( hopefully ) .
A little update on my end , I have just finished the H-Factor tour with Hannah Tan and the gang . It was freaking fun and I have learned so much from the experience . I also made many new friends along the way . I am also busy with shows , planning another tour with Starbucks soon , and going overseas to quite a number of places . Wait for my updates, it’s going to be a fun DECEMBER ! , not to mention Tupai is coming back soon too !
